A few years ago the library purchased these photos believing they were photos of Fieldale, the skeet shooting club established by Marshall Field that was located at Huntington Blvd. and Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates.  It is the current location of the Hilldale Golf Club.  After viewing actual photos of the club, it was easy to determine that these were not the same club.

It was suggested that they might be photos of a club that was in the Dundee area.  After contacting the Dundee Township Historical Society and passing them on for their perusal, they said no.

I have to believe they were taken in the area because the stamp on the back says “Eastman Kodak Stores Co., 133 N. Wabash Ave., Chicago, Illinois,  Apr 5, 1940.”

Can anyone help?

My Grandmother owned a gun club in what is now Elk Grove. It was on Landmier road. It was called police gun club. This was in the late 1940s early 50s. But not sure if these pictures are it.

Are you sure it’s a gun club? My grandfather had pics that I have seen YEARS ago that looked similar, he build and flew model airplanes around the mid 40’s,He lived in oriole park chicago just off of rt 90.Civil air patrol comes to mind as well..

This is an intriguing thought. Maybe I’ll raise this question to a couple of gentlemen I know who are interested in some of the long ago airports that no longer exist. Something like a model airplane field might have come on their radar. Thank you!

Thank you Joe! I very much appreciate your contribution. This clarifies these photos for us and lets me know that they are nowhere close to Schaumburg Township!
